Dr. VIRGINIA C. CUEVAS is a Professor Emeritus of the Institute of Biological Sciences, College of Arts and Sciences and a member (Academician) of the National Academy of Science and Technology (NAST). She obtained her Ph D Botany from UPLB, and her MS and BS Botany degrees from UP Diliman. She is the developer of the Trichoderma technologies - inoculants for rapid composting agricultural wastes and biofertilizer, biocontrol agent and growth promoter for crops and for bioremediation of heavy metal contaminated soils. She is a recipient of various national awards for teaching, research and public service and the Hitachi Global Foundation Asia Innovation Award 2021.
