VICTOR S. TICZON, PhD
Vic is a marine biologist specializing in coral reef ecology and remote sensing. He is currently the project leader of the Department of Science and Technology funded project “Spatio-temporal Monitoring and Rehabilitation Technology for Enhanced Recovery of Coral Reefs (SMaRTER-Corals)”. His research interest is on coral reef ecology specifically focusing on the influence of coral reef architecture on juvenile reef fish assemblage and how this is influenced by fisheries and climate change. He also conducts broad scale coral reef assessment using remote sensing in determining impacts of large-scale disturbances on Philippine reefs. Vic has a BS Biology and MS Environmental Science degree from UPLB, and a doctorate degree in Marine Science from the University of the Philippines Marine Science Institute in Diliman.
