PATRICIA ANN J. SANCHEZ, PhD
Dr. Patricia Ann Jaranilla-Sanchez is a licensed Agricultural Engineer, professor and UP Scientist in the University of the Philippines Los BaƱos (UPLB), School of Environmental Science and Management (SESAM), and a visiting associate scientist working as an environmental safeguards specialist in the World Agroforestry Centre (ICRAF). She is also the chair of the Interdisciplinary Studies Center for Water (IDSC-Water) in UPLB. She was awarded as one of the Outstanding Young Scientists by the DOST-National Science and Technology in 2019. In 2021, she was selected as one of the new members of National Panel of Technical Experts of the Climate Change Commission and Scientific Steering Committee of Regional Information for Society (RIfS) Core Project of World Climate Research Program. Dr. Sanchez is currently doing researches on hydrology, flood and drought risks, climate resiliency, carrying capacity, and water resources assessment.
