Ms. Aileen S. Peria is a University Extension Specialist at the Office of the Coordinator for Research, Extension, and Linkages (OCREL), College of Forestry and Natural Resources (CFNR), University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB). As an extension specialist, her work centers on organizing and conducting local, international, and regional trainings, workshops, and conferences, honed from her eight-year experience as a Training Specialist at the longest-running Netherlands-funded regional training program in the Philippines at that time. She joined CFNR in 2002 and has been primarily involved in conferences, forums, seminars, trainings, and workshops related to publishing and science communication as well as developing popular and scientific publications. She is the Production Editor and Language Editor of the Ecosystems and Development (E&D) Journal and Editor-in-Chief of the Makiling eNews -- both official publications of CFNR. With BS in Development Communication (major in Journalism), MS in Development Communication (minor in Environmental Communication), and a PhD candidate in Environmental Science from the UPLB School of Environmental Science and Management (SESAM) with a cognate in Development Management, she has been involved in various research related to climate change, capacity-building, environmental science, resilience, and risk communication. Two co-authored journal publications recently received the International Publication Award from the University of the Philippines.
