The University of the Philippines Los Baños Foundation through the Interdisciplinary Studies Center for Integrated Natural Resources and Environment Management (UPLB-INREM) has formally entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) separately with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Bicol Region (DENR 5) and Bicol University (BU) for the Resilience-building and Future-proofing Strategies in a Multi-stressed Scenario in the Province of Albay, Philippines project last 03 November 2022 in Legazpi City, Albay.

The agreement is expected to further strengthen the already strong collaboration and connection between UPLBFI and its partner organizations in the Bicol Region through co-learning and co-development of key strategies in building the resilience of local government units and communities and in the implementation of future-proof strategies for climate change and development.

The MOU was signed by UPLBFI President Jose V Camacho Jr. for UPLBFI, and RED Francisco Milla Jr. for DENR Region 5, and Dr. Arnulfo Mascariñas for Bicol University. The ceremonial signing events were witnessed by Dean Marlo D. Mendoza of CFNR and Dr. Juan M. Pulhin, UPLB-INREM Chair

The research project is being implemented by the UPLB-INREM and the UP Resilience Institute (UP RI) in partnership with the City Government of Ligao, Bicol University, and the Department of Environment and Natural Resource – Bicol Region with funding from the Asia Pacific Network for Global Change Research (APN).
