IdSC-INREM hosts Samar State U research center benchmarking activties

Researchers from the Environmental Sustainability Research and Development Center of the Samar State University

The Environmental Sustainability Research and Development Center of the Samar State University (SSU) visited UPLB INREM last October 13 as part of their benchmarking activities on the leading centers and institutes to gather best practices going forward. Good practices include allocating resources to jumpstart the activities of the center and provided a plantilla position who will man the daily activities of the center. Embarking on generating resources should be done to implement project for the center.

Marlo D. Mendoza, MM, Dean of the UPLB College of Forestry and Natural Resources, and Juan M. Pulhin, PhD, Chair of IdSC INREM, welcomed the SSU Team, led by Engr. Mirador Labrador, Executive Director of the SSU Extension Services .

Dean Mendoza shared the collaborative efforts of IdSC-INREM and the College of Forestry and Natural Resources on various programs and initiatives. Meanwhile, Dr. Pulhin provided the historical context of the Center’s formation and its early years, vision, mission and objectives, as well as its goals for the future. Dr. de Luna, University Researcher II at IdSC-INREM, presented the research projects currently implemented by the Center.
