Dr. ALFREDO MAHAR FRANCISCO A. LAGMAY
Executive Director, UP Resilience Institute

Dr. Alfredo Mahar Francisco A. Lagmay is an Academician of the National Academy
of Science and Technology (NAST) and Professor at the National Institute of Geological Sciences, University of the Philippines. He is the Executive Director of the UP Resilience Institute (UP RI) and Director of its core component, the UP Nationwide Operational Assessment of Hazards (NOAH) Center. He is a recipient of the 2008 Outstanding Research Award from DOST, the 2013 Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Outstanding Professional of the Year Award, the 2013 Outstanding Filipino Award (TOFIL), the 2015 Plinius Medal of the European Geosciences Union (EGU), and the 2020 StartNetwork Changemaker Award.

Dr. LAURA T. DAVID
Director, UP Marine Science Insitute

Dr. Laura T. David is a Professor of Oceanography in the University of the Philippines. She makes use of remote sensing and modelling to explore how ocean physics influences the distribution and state of ocean flora and fauna. She is recognized as one of the country’s pioneers in Ocean Remote Sensing with her expertise being tapped to assist in matters related to climate change vulnerability and adaptation. Currently, she is also the Director of UP Marine Science Institute, Chair of the CHED Technical Committee in Marine Science, Board President of PATH Foundation and of TAO-Pilipinas, a women-led non-profit, NGO of technical professionals who help guide housing issues in urban and rural areas, and a Board member of The Outstanding Women in Nation Service, Inc. (TOWNS). Internationally, she is also an Academy Member of Future Earth Coasts and an Emeritus of the Scientific Steering Committee of Geo-BLUE Planet. Both organizations are committed to people-relevant ocean science

Dr. OSAMU SAITO
Principal Policy Researcher, Institute for Global Environmental Studies, Japan

As an expert in the field of biodiversity and ecosystem services, Dr. Osamu Saito has been working on the interlinkages between ecological, human and social systems through sustainability science approaches. His research experiences include socio-ecological studies on the ecosystem services provided by traditional rural production landscapes (Satoyama) in Japan, other Asian countries, and Sub-Sahara Africa. He has been also actively promoting various activities for Intergovernmental Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) as a lead author of both regional and global assessments. He has been a managing editor of the Sustainability Science journal (Impact Factor 2022: 6.0) published by Springer Nature since 2011. 

The 4th International Conference on Integrated Natural Resources and Environment Management or INREM 2023 is organized by the UPLB Interdisciplinary Studies Center for Integrated Natural Resources and Environment Management or UPLB-INREM, University of the Philippines Los Baños, UPLB College of Forestry and Natural Resources, and UP Resilience Institute.

The German Agency for International Cooperation or GIZ is a partner for the South-South Exchange on Climate Information Services in Agriculture and Energy Session
